DONALDSON, IN – Ancilla Men's Golf played in the University of St. Francis Invitational over the weekend in Fort Wayne, IN where they finished 12th of 15 and the Muskegon Invitational where the Gold team finished 4th of 5 and the Blue team finished 5th of 5.
The men were led by Peyton Manns who shot 78 and 74 respectfully for a two day total of 152, leaving him tied for 10th overall at the University of St. Francis Invitational.
"The men played better day two as they shot a great score of 328," commented head coach Marc Green. "We can play even better than that if we just stay focused and work on not shooting a big number on a hole. Peyton played very well and I am proud of all the work he puts in to make himself better."
On Sunday, when the men competed in the Muskegon Invitational, all 11 of the men's golfers were able to compete for the first time. The Chargers divided into a gold team and a blue team. The gold team was led by Karsten Roudebush who shot an 83, while the blue team was led by Austin Treece who shot an 86. The gold team finished 4th of five and the blue team finished 5th of five.
"It was nice to see all the guys be able to compete. This was without question, the most difficult course we will play this year," said Green. "Karsten played really well, especially when you take in account, he never made worse than a bogey. That is how you keep your score low on a difficult course."
The Charger men's golf team will be back in action on Friday and Saturday at the Hopkins Golf Collegiate Classic hosted by Millikin University in Decatur, IL.
