DONALDSON, IN – The Ancilla College Women's Soccer Team lost to Muskegon Community College on Saturday, 2-1.
"It was a tough, hard fought game that could have gone either way," said Ancilla Head Coach Justin Crew. "I was really proud of the effort the team gave. They gave everything they had, unfortunately, we just didn't get the result."
Six minutes later, Muskegon tied the score and three minutes later, they took the lead on a penalty kick of their own. Heading into the half, the score was 2-1.
The second half was back and forth with the Chargers having a majority of the chances to score. Robuste hit the cross bar with 18 minutes left that would have tied the game.
"If that shot would have went in, the game would have tied and we would have had the momentum," said Crew.
From that point forward, Ancilla was mostly in control. The team had four more great chances to score but were unable to do so. Crew said the game was there for the taking in the second half, but the difference between winning and losing is often very small.
"When we are in those positions next time, I am confident we will do what we need to do," remarked Crew.
The Lady Chargers will head to Delta College on Sunday, October 16th. Game time will start at 1:00p.m.
