DONALDSON, IN – The Charger women's basketball team defeated Andrews University at home, 86-45.
Ancilla led heading into the locker room in double-digit fashion, 53-9. The Cardinals fought back in the second half to close the gap, but it wasn't enough to upset the Chargers, giving Ancilla an 86-45 victory. Karson Williams led the scoring for Ancilla with 17 points followed by Donshelle Daniels with 15, Donshae Daniels with 12, and Quanika Merriweather with 11. Donshae Daniels led in rebounds with eight along with Kristen Duff who pulled down seven. Duff also added five assists for the night.
"I was very pleased with our defense in the first half," said head coach Tom Robbins. "The player's intensity level was extremely high in our half-court defense, which led to 23 turnovers in the first two quarters. We are communicating with each other well and anticipating the cuts very well."
The team will be back in action in Charger Arena on Friday, November 2nd as they take on Indiana Tech JV. Game time is scheduled for 6:00p.m.
