DONALDSON, IN – The Ancilla College Bowling Team opened their inaugural season with a home bowling meet on Friday, January 6th where the men's team finished 2nd and the women's team finished 4th.
The team winners of the event were Schoolcraft College for both the men's and women's team. The High Game winners were Ancilla's Austin Jordan with a score of 248 and Schoolcraft's Kayla Jackson with 237.
"We finally got a chance to get out on the lanes and compete. I don't know who was more anxious, the team or I. At the start we were on fire, rolling strikes, and spares. But then we seemed to relax and made some simple mistakes," said Al Franklin, Ancilla's Head Coach. "In the end, we fought until the end and placing second for our first tournament ever as a team, I'll take that. Austin Jordan led the way with high game 248 and Walter Griffin also paving the way with some strong bowling and a 610 series. On the girls' side were a girl down but fought so hard. Taylor Hanner had the best day overall for the day with high game of 206. I am so proud of them all."
The Ancilla bowling teams will be on the road on January 13th at Muskegon Community College. Match begins at 10:00a.m.
