DONALDSON, IN – Ancilla College Men's Basketball, currently ranked 6th in the NJCAA Division II rankings, lost to Mid-Michigan Community College at home Wednesday night in double overtime, 87-86.
The back and forth scoring, action packed game, saw the teams tied a total of 12 times and lead change 11 times throughout, ending regular play in a tie game 64-64. In the first overtime, the Chargers were able to keep the score tied in the final minutes to head into double overtime. However, the Lakers were able to pull ahead by one in the final seconds of the game to take the win.
Leading the charge for Ancilla was Gary Bonds with a double-double 24 points and 12 rebounds, and Don'Tayon Young with 18 points and 16 rebounds. Jair Rodgers added 14 points and Dylan Phair put up 13. Anderson McCoy had six assists to the Charger stats.
"We simply did not play well enough to win," said Head Coach Aaron Butcher. "Mid-Michigan played really well. We had 26 turnovers, missed 14 free throws and went 3-14 from 3, and still had multiple chances to win the game. We will have to bounce back quickly as we have a very good Jackson team coming in on Saturday."
The Chargers will take on Jackson College on Saturday afternoon at home. Tip-Off is set for 3:00p.m.
