DONALDSON, IN – The Ancilla Chargers men's basketball team defeated the Jackson Jets on Saturday afternoon, 71-63, taking their record to 13-2.
The Chargers led by 11 at the end of the first half over the Jets. Teammates Dylan Phair, Jair Rodgers, and Gary Bonds each scored 17 points for Ancilla, followed by Anderson McCoy who added 12. Bonds and Don'Tayon Young led in rebounds, pulling down 11 and 10 respectively.
"I was very proud of the way the guys bounced back after a poor performance last Wednesday," remarked Head Coach Aaron Butcher. "Jackson is a good team. They have two of the best scorers in the league, and we held them to a combined 5-20 from the field. It was a great game for us and we got solid contributions from several team members."
Ancilla will play home in Charger Arena on Wednesday, January 18th in a conference match up against Grand Rapids Community College. Tip-off is 7:30p.m.
