DONALDSON, IN – The Ancilla Lady Charger basketball team captured a home court win over Jackson College on Saturday, 80-60.
The Chargers were ahead of Jackson by seven at the end of the first quarter, and finished the half up by six. Freshman Quaynika Merriweather led the scoring for Ancilla with 20 points. Donshae Daniels and Donshelle Daniels put up 15 and 14 respectively, and Daitriona Bonds added 10. Daniels and Daniels both led in rebound stats for the Chargers pulling down nine each.
"The team brought a level of focus and determination that we hadn't had in our previous two games," said Head Coach Tom Robbins. "I felt that we really did a nice job of communication on defense and we battled hard for rebounds all game long. We needed every bit of effort each player gave in order to get the win."
Ancilla will play home on Wednesday, January 18th, at 5:30p.m. against Grand Rapids Community College.
