DONALDSON, IN – On Friday, January 13th, the Ancilla College men's and women's bowling team bowled in the Muskegon Invitational.
The invitational was host to the MCCAA Conference teams along with the men's and women's teams from Cornerstone University, Highland College, Spring Arbor University, and Grand Valley State University and the men's team from Ball State University.
The Ancilla Men's team competed again 13 other men's teams and after four games and eight baker games, sat in 5th out of 13. Unfortunately, after a loss of composure and mental game, the team fell to finish 8th overall. Leading the way for the men's team was Walter Griffin who Coach Al Franklin says to continue to excel along with teammate Corgan Shephard.
On the women's side, they team faced off against 10 women's teams where they finished 9th. Coach Franklin said the team's goal was to not finish last. Angelique Mckeny led the women rolling a 735 series for four games and placing 4th amongst 61 women to win a medal for her efforts. Coach Franklin said Brooklyn Livings really stepped up over the practice week and her best game with a high score of 203.
"I am so proud of both team and their continued efforts to improving each week. We have learned to limit some of the mistakes we made previously, and as the season continues, I am confident that we will continue to improve," said Franklin.
Both teams will bowl again on Friday, January 20th at Kirtland Community College. Match starts at 10:00a.m.
