DONALDSON, IN – Ancilla College Men's Basketball won over Grand Rapids Community College in overtime Wednesday night, 92-87. The Chargers, currently ranked #9 in the NJCAA rankings, are currently 14-2 overall and 4-1 in the MCCAA Conference.
The team was led by Andrew Jones who scored 22 points along with Dylan Phair with 20, Jair Rodgers with 18 and Gary Bonds with 15. In rebounds, the Chargers were led by Phair who pulled down 11 along with Jones and Don'Tayon Young who added 10 each.
"After getting off to a slow start, I thought we played really well in the middle twenty minutes of the game; which ultimately allowed us to build an eighteen point lead in the second half. We had some lapses and untimely turnovers late and continued to put them on the free throw line," said Head Coach Aaron Butcher. "This allowed them to get back in it and ultimately take it to overtime. We fortunately made enough plays in overtime to get the win. Conference wins are always tough to come by, especially this year."
Ancilla will be away over the weekend as they head to Lansing, MI on Saturday to play Lansing Community College. Game time is set for 3:00p.m.
