DONALDSON, IN – On Friday, the Ancilla College Men's Basketball team faced off against Lake Michigan College where they won 79-74 and upped their record to 16-3 overall and 6-2 in the MCCAA Conference.
Ancilla and Lake Michigan were tied 33-33 at the end of a tight first half. In the second half, the Chargers stayed strong and were able to pull ahead by four to end the game after tying it up seven times throughout.
Sophomores Gary Bonds, Dylan Phair, and Andrew Jones led in scoring for Ancilla with 20, 18, and 15 points respectively. Phair and Jones also led in rebounds with nine and seven and freshman Jair Rogers also added 10 points to the Charger stats.
"I am very proud of the way our guys played," said Aaron Butcher, Charger Head Coach. "Lake Michigan is always a tough place to win. It was close throughout, and our guys played with poise and made enough plays to win it. I thought our defensive effort was the best it had been in the last five games."
The Chargers will head to Michigan on Wednesday evening to play Muskegon Community College. Tip-off is set for 7:30p.m.
