DONALDSON, IN – On Saturday, the Ancilla Men's Basketball team won at home over Kellogg Community College, 97-68. Raising their record to 17-4 overall and 7-3 in the MCCAA Conference.
The Chargers were off to a slow start in first half of the game according to Head Coach Aaron Butcher, but were able to take an 11 point lead before heading to the locker rooms. Five Ancilla players saw double digit scores for the game with Jair Rodgers leading with 28 points. Gary Bonds had 16 points, Dylan Phair put up 14 points, and Andrew Jones pulled a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Anderson McCoy added 10 points to the score board for Ancilla and Rodgers and McCoy each had five assists.
"We weren't really solid defensively in the first half," remarked Butcher. "However, in the second half, we put up a little more resistance and got some shots to fall which allowed us to open things up. We have to keep working on putting a full 40 minutes of consistent play together."
The team will play at home in Charger Arena on Wednesday, February 8th at 7:30p.m. where they will face off against Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
