DONALDSON, IN – Ancilla College women's basketball defeated Kellogg Community College in Charger Arena on Saturday afternoon, 74-41.
In the first quarter of the game, the Chargers led by seven. In the second half, Kellogg fought to make a comeback, but Ancilla was able to hold a 13 point lead to close out the first half. Leading for Ancilla was Donshelle Daniels who pulled a double-double scoring 22 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Quaynika Merriweather put up 16 points and Brynda Krueger also earned a double-double for the game with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
"Once again, our defense held things together early for us until we could get going offensively," said Head Coach Tom Robbins. "The second half, our offense finally started clicking again and we started knocking down shots."
The win brings the Chargers record to 13-8 overall and 6-4 in the MCCAA conference. The team will play home on Wednesday night in a conference match up against Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Game time is set for 5:30p.m.
