DONALDSON, IN – The Charger Women's Basketball team were defeated at home on Wednesday night by Kalamazoo Valley Community College, 67-60 making their record 13-9 and 6-5 in the MCCAA Conference.
At the end of the first quarter, Ancilla held the lead by three. Heading off the court at the half, the Cougars were able to pull ahead in the second quarter and take a 13 point lead. Leading in points for the Chargers was freshman Donshelle Daniels with 16 points followed by Karson Williams with 13 and Daitriona Bonds with 10. Donshae Daniels led in rebound with nine.
"I thought our players really played with a winning effort for 36 of the 40 minute game," said head coach Tom Robbins. "We defended well, we ran our offense well, and we rebounded well. However, there a three to four minute stretch in the fourth quarter where we lost our focus and composure. During that time, Kalamazoo was able to establish an eight point lead and we weren't able to close the gap."
Ancilla will be on the road this coming Saturday as they head to Mid-Michigan Community College to continue their conference play. Game time is set for 1:00p.m.
