DONALDSON, IN – The Charger Women's Basketball team won over Jackson College on Wednesday night, 62-51.
"Our defense was outstanding for most of the game and won us the basketball game," said Head Coach Tom Robbins.
The team had 20 steals and 11 block shots for the game. Donshelle Daniels led in scoring for the Chargers with 22 points followed by Quaynika Merriweather with 16 and Brynda Krueger with 10. Donshae Daniels pulled down 10 rebounds and (Donshelle) Daniels and Krueger each added eight.
"Donshelle Daniels had many of her nine total steals in the fourth quarter which broke open the game for us," commented Robbins. "Brynda Krueger's four blocks anchored our rim defense. We communicated well, moved well in our rotations, and each individual guarded their person according to the scouting report."
The win over Jackson College brings the Chargers to a 14-10 record overall and 7-6 in the MCCAA Conference. Ancilla will be on the road on Friday, February 17th as they head to Grand Rapids, MI to face off against Grand Rapids Community College at 5:30p.m.
