DONALDSON, IN – The Ancilla College women's basketball team defeated Glen Oaks Community College on the road Saturday afternoon, 85-42, to bring their season record to 16-11.
Quaynika Merriweather led the charge for Ancilla with 20 points followed by teammate Brynda Krueger with 17. Donshelle Daniels put up 14 points and Kristen Duff added 10. Daniels (Donshelle) and Donshae Daniels each pulled down nine rebounds and Krueger had eight rebounds and seven assists for the game.
"The focus, determination, and intensity the players brought into the game was at a very high level," remarked head coach Tom Robbins. "They dove on loose balls, crashed for every rebound, and moved the ball extremely well. We scored off of 23 assists, gathered 23 steals, and only had 12 turnovers. It was a great team performance."
The team will face Lake Michigan College on Monday night and will wrap up conference play on Wednesday night against Muskegon Community College. Both games will start at 5:30p.m. On Wednesday night, the sophomore from the team will also be honored during sophomore night.
