DONALDSON, IN – The Ancilla College Women's Basketball team lost to Lake Michigan College at home Wednesday night, 67-62, bringing their season record to 16-12 and their conference record to 9-8.
The Chargers came out strong grabbing an eight point lead at the end of the first quarter, and a six point lead to round out the first half. In the second half, Ancilla had a lot of offensive possessions that didn't move well, according to Head Coach Tom Robbins, which cost them the game. Leading for the Chargers was Quaynika Merriweather with 22 points. Donshelle Daniels put up 15 points and pulled down seven rebounds and Brynda Krueger added 11 points.
"I was very pleased with the way our players approached the game," said head coach Tom Robbins. "However, in the second half, we acted as though we were waiting for someone to make a play for us. Those are things you just can't do when you are playing the #20 team in the nation. Overall, I thought we made some progress as a team that is going to help us in the Region tournament next week."
Ancilla will play home on Wednesday night to round out regular season play against Muskegon Community College. Game time is set for 5:30p.m. The team will also recognize their sophomore athletes after the game.
