DONALDSON, IN – The Ancilla College Women's Golf Team started their spring season off by competing in the 2017 Beach Bash Invitational hosted by Alderson-Broaddus University in Myrtle Beach, SC.
The Chargers played well on day one at the famous Myrtle Beach National Course. Ancilla was led by freshman Megan LaFontaine who fired an 86 and also recorded the school's first Eagle on hole #14 and knocked her second shot in from 130 years out.
On day two, the Chargers did not play as well and finished the tournament in 5th place out of 7 teams. For day tow, Ancilla was led by freshman Taylor Parillo firing a 94.
The tournament consisted of all NCAA Division II teams with the exception of Ancilla. "Overall I was pleased with the way our team competed," said head coach Marc Green. "There are definitely some things we can work on to improve our scores but with the drives these ladies have to get better, it will be only improvements from here."
The Ancilla Women's Team will play their next match in Kankakee, IL against Kankakee Elks Community College for a two day tournament.
