NORTH MANCHESTER, IN – The Ancilla Volleyball Team lost in four sets to the Spartans last Wednesday night (20-25, 25-15, 19-25, 11-25).
Sophomore Darrian Mowery led the Chargers with nine kills. Sophomore Makai Gingerich and Freshman Morgan Fulayter both helped out with fourteen digs each. Freshmen Trisha Moser and Amanda Saltsman contributed with eight digs a piece. Gingerich aided with fifteen assists, and Moser was close behind with eight assists.
"We started off strong against them but struggled with keeping the lead several times throughout the night," comments Ancilla Head Coach Jordan Weitzell. "That seemed to be our issue during several games this week; we'd play really well for a while and then have a few mistakes and lose the lead. I told the girls I was proud of the effort though, because we almost beat a team who has been playing together for 3-4 years, where we have only been playing together several months. I think that says something about our skills - that we can compete with a four-year school."
Charger Volleyball is back in action at Glen Oaks Community College on September 12 at 6:30pm.
