BATTLE CREEK, MICHIGAN – With eight games to play in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Western Conference, the Ancilla College softball team entered the day tied for fourth place, needed to win six of their final eight to secure a spot in the NJCAA Region XII post-season tournament on their own.

The Chargers started their stretch with a split at Kellogg Community College, winning game one 4-3 and losing the second game 2-1.

Courtney Clark picked up her twelfth win of the season, tying an Ancilla mark for wins in a season set by Stephanie Leffler in 2003. Gretchen Gieseking was 2-3 with one RBI, while Maura Hancock and Clark each added a RBI for Ancilla.

Ancilla scored their lone run in game two in the first inning, while Kellogg posted runs in the sixth and the seventh to come away with the victory.

Hancock finished the game 2-3 for the Chargers.
