PLYMOUTH, IN – The Lady Chargers basketball team lost a conference game Friday 64-59 to Kalamazoo Valley Community College who was ranked #7 in the nation. The Lady Chargers are now 3-18 overall and 0-12 in the MCCAA West.
Coach Beason mentioned, "We played with intensity and effort for the entire 40 minutes last night. We led in every statistical category, unfortunately that also included turnovers. We had twelve more turnovers than Kalamazoo Valley did and that really hurt us more than anything last night! It is hard to beat any team, let alone the #7 team in the country with the amount of turnovers we racked up. Overall I am very pleased with our players last night. This was by far one of the better games we've played all season."
Top performances were turned in from Kaylia Richardson (Indianapolis, IN) with 30 points, 16 rebounds, 7 steals, and 2 blocks while Brittany Himes (Plymouth, IN) added 13 points and 8 rebounds. Hope Wagner (Knox, IN) contributed 10 points and 4 steals for the Lady Chargers.
Coach Beason remarked about the Ounce of Prevention event, "We would also like to say a big thank you to everyone who came out and donated to the Ounce of Prevention fundraiser!"
The Lady Chargers continue MCCAA West play when they host Grand Rapids Community College on Saturday, February 16 with tipoff at 1:00p.m.
