Baseball Season Comes to a Close

LANSING (MI) - For the final time this Spring, the Marian University Ancilla Baseball team donned their uniforms in a road double-header at Lansing Community College. The Stars, sitting in 2nd Place in the MCCAA Western Conference, have typically been a strong opponent, and Saturday was no different. Lansing scored in the bottom of the 1st inning and never looked back, defeating the Chargers 14-2 and 18-0, both games in a shortened 5 innings. Below is a look at some notes/highlights from the two final games of the 2026 season.

GAME-1 (L 14-2 in 5 innings): The Chargers were limited to 5 hits, but by 5 different players. Redshirt Freshman Owen Negron roped a double, drove in a run, and scored a run. Sophomore Evan Lanphier also knocked a double and drove in a run. Sophomores Jose ParisJaxson Hixson, and Kaleb Short were each responsible for singles, with Freshman Andrew Kerschner scoring the other run for Marian Ancilla.

GAME-2 (L 18-0 in 5 innings): Game-2 was even less-friendly to the Chargers, as they only reached safely 4 times, via 3 hits and a walk. Freshmen Cade Quick and Andrew Kerschner each reached via doubles, while Freshman Cayden Nolan hit a single, and Freshman Liam Dupuis-Cundy reached via a walk. Freshman Alejandro Santos put together the pitching performance of the day for Marian Ancilla. Santos went an inning and 2/3, he didn't allow a run, and he struck out 4 Lansing batters.

The Charger Baseball team finished the year 2-23 in the MCCAA Western Conference and 3-41 overall. They have hit the recruiting trail hard, per usual, and will be back playing once again in the Fall.
