Men's Bowling Season Begins With Charger Invitational

The Marian University Ancilla men's bowling team began their season Friday morning, as they hosted the Charger Invitational at Kingpin Lanes in Plymouth. The event hosted five total teams, all from the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA), with the Chargers finishing 5th of the five squads during the day. The men did improve throughout, closing the gap from the end of the 3-game traditional rounds to the end of the "Baker" rounds.

Additionally, four of the six Charger bowlers posted their best round in the third and final round of traditional play, so with a little more consistency early, they have room to improve and continue rising within the conference standings each week.

Freshman Austin Nunn led the Chargers with the high individual round (187 3rd round) and the overall 3-game total (434). Freshman Rocco Venice was a close second with his strong 134+155+138=427, while Freshman Juan Pablo Benavente also hit the 150 mark in his opening round of the day.

The Chargers now spend the next four weeks traveling to other conference alleys before turning their attention to the MCCAA and NJCAA Region 12 championships. Please come out and support these young men, if you are able!!
