This past weekend, the Marian University Ancilla Men's Track & Field team participated in the Olivet Nazarene Invitational in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Two Charger athletes specifically stood out with their performances, placing high in each of their initial heats. Below is a quick look at those results.

Freshman Anthony Hughes participated in both the 200 meters and the long jump. In the 200m, Hughes finished 2nd in his heat and 34th overall in a time of 25.1 seconds. In the long jump, he launched his way to a 20th Place finish with a distance of 5.34 meters.

Fellow Freshman Sonny Gilbert showed off his speed in the 100 meters. He finished 3rd in his qualifying heat and was 36th overall by the end of the day in a time of 12.18 seconds.

The Chargers have one last meet at Indiana State on May 9th. The NJCAA Championships then take place May 15th through May 17th for those who qualify. Good luck to all Charger Track & Field athletes!!
