JACKSON (MI) - Friday afternoon, the Marian University Ancilla Softball team got their Spring 2026 season underway, taking on the Jackson Jets in a double-header. Jackson entered the day already having played 10 contests, and their early season experienced showed, as they defeated the Chargers 6-2 and 13-2. Below are some quick notes on each of the games.
GAME-1 (L 6-2): The bottom half of the order collected all four hits, both runs, and an RBI for the Chargers. Sophomore Morgan Fogle had a hit, stole a base, and scored a run, Sophomore Cayla Beasley drew 2 walks and scored a run, Sophomore Kierstin Schjoll and Freshman Mickayla Naanos each hit singles, while Freshman Lauren Bruce roped a double and drove in a run. Sophomore Kim Cummings struck out 6 in 3 innings of work, while Freshman Rebecca Braude pitched a scoreless 2/3 of an inning in relief.
GAME-2 (L 13-2, 5 innings): Once again Marian Ancilla managed 4 hits and 2 runs. Freshman Christina Grabowski had a hit, a walk, and scored a run, Freshman Ryleigh Reiblich had a single and drove in a run, and Sophomore Kim Cummings was responsible for a single and a double, plus she drove in a run as well. Sophomore Morgan Fogle scored the second run, following a walk. Freshman Rebecca Braude again pitched a scoreless 1 1/3 innings in relief.
