Wrestlers Represent Well at District Tourney

MUSKEGON (MI) - The Marian University Ancilla Wrestling season came to a conclusion Sunday afternoon, as they participated in the NJCAA Great Lakes District Tournament at Muskegon Community College. While all five young men on the team weighed in, four were healthy and able to participate, and they represented the navy & gold well, according to Coach Ennis. "All of our men fought hard on the mat and represented Marian Ancilla with pride."

Standing out was Freshman Andy Warren who participated in the 197-pound division. Warren advanced far enough to finish in 4th Place overall, earning him a bid to advance to the NJCAA National Championships in Iowa!! Congratulations, Andy!!

Freshman Britton Bittner finished in 6th Place in the 149-pound weight class, while Freshman Joseph Zamudio-Perez finished in 6th Place in the 184-pound weight class. Sophomore Sonny Gilbert unfortunately did not place in the 165-pound division, and Freshman Carter Banks was a medical scratch.

Next up will be Andy Warren's attendance at the NJCAA National Championships March 6-7 at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Good luck, Andy!! The entire Marian Ancilla community is happy for you and proud of you!!
