Following a one-year hiatus in 2024-25, the Marian University Ancilla Women's Soccer team is back in action this year with 14 rostered players, and they have finished 4 matches to date. They began their season with a 3-1 loss against the Blue Angels of Kaskaskia College. Freshman Aubrey Rack scored the lone Charger goal, while Freshman Reagan Kooy posted 14 saves in goal.
September 3rd, the Chargers had to fend off a very good Muskegon Jayhawks team, falling 7-0. Kooy was again on her toes having to deal with a lot of shot attempts, saving 11 balls in the process.
This past Sunday, Marian Ancilla traveled to Kellogg Community College, and the Bruins were another tough opponent, outscoring the Chargers 8-0. Kooy was unfortunately injured early in that contest, but Freshman Delaney Birchett stepped in a did a nice job as the replacement goalkeeper.
This Wednesday, the Chargers showed improvement as they battled the Lake Michigan Red Hawks at MUAC Field, falling by a 5-0 score. Freshman America Reyes was aggressive for the navy & gold, getting 8 shots away (3 on goal) during the contest.
The Women's Soccer team is back in action today, as they head to Grand Rapids Community College for a 2:00p start time. They next play at home on Wednesday, September 17th, when they host St. Clair County Community College. Please come out and support the ladies, if you are able!!
