Chargers Drop Tough One at Owens

Chargers Drop Tough One at Owens

Wednesday afternoon, the Marian University Ancilla Women's Soccer team continued their improved play but fell in a tough 3-1 decision to Owens Community College in Perrysburg, Ohio. The Chargers made it to the half down just 1-0, but an early second half goal by the Express made it tough to come back.

However, in the 57th minute, Freshman LaNiceon Holman found Freshman Aaliyah Casiano for the Chargers' lone goal, cutting the lead to 2-1. Owens would again find the back of the net, though, with about 20 minutes remaining, and that proved to be the final score of the contest.

Despite the loss, Freshman goalkeeper Reagan Kooy was again strong in goal for the Chargers, as she saved 21 of 24 attempts at the goal.

The Women's Soccer team is back in action tomorrow, Saturday (9/27), when they host Alpena Community College at 1:00p. Tomorrow is a part of Family Weekend on the MUAC campus, plus the team will be celebrating Sophomore Day. Please come out and support the ladies, if you are able!!
