MARION (IN) - The Women's Track season began Friday & Saturday for the Marian University Ancilla Chargers, as they participated in the Indiana Wesleyan Polar Bear Classic. While a few members of the team are still getting their legs under them and will start this coming weekend, a couple of school records were still set at the event.

Sophomore Aaliyah Keil, who hasn't run in two years, was outstanding, burning up the track and setting a pair of school records. In the 100m dash, Keil ran it in 13.10 seconds, which placed her 11th overall at the event. She also finished in 12th Place in the 200m, running that in a school record time of 26.29 seconds. What's scary is, she hasn't hurdled yet, and that was her best event in high school.

Sophomore Ciara Bonner, who has set cross country records for MUAC already, was also strong on Saturday. She ran the 800m race, and she too set a school record, finishing in a time of 2:32.51, good enough for 16th Place overall. Bonner also won her individual heat.

Freshman Alex Sutherlin, who was an all-conference performer this year for the volleyball team, participated in her first-ever track event, and she ran the 200m in a time of 32.87 seconds, then she finished in 22nd Place overall in the 400m, running that race in a time of 1:16.83.

The Women's Track team will be back in action this Friday (3/27), when they head to Indianapolis to participate in the Marian Knight Open at our Indy campus. Good luck, ladies, and continued success this season!!
