The Marian University Ancilla Women's Cross Country team began their season last Friday with an evening run at the Wildcat Twilight Invitational at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana. The Chargers have three runners on the team this year, and while each began the race strong, Sophomore Ciara Bonner was unfortunately injured early in the race and was unable to finish. She produced the top times and set school records a season ago.
Freshman Maggie Kieszkowski saw her first action while wearing navy & gold, and she ran a team-best time of 27:58.40. She is a nearby New Prairie High School graduate. Sophomore Katelynn Schlotter is in her second year for the Chargers, and she ran a time of 36:56.00.
The Women's Cross Country team is back in action in a couple of weeks, when they participate in the MCCAA Western Conference Championship at Southwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac, Michigan. That will take place on Friday, September 26th. Please come out and support the ladies, if you are able!!
