PLYMOUTH (IN) - Saturday afternoon at the LifePlex was Sophomore Day for the second-year players on the Marian University Ancilla Men's Basketball team. All five Sophomores on the roster started, they played a majority of the minutes, and they were supported throughout the game by a good crowd. Lake Michigan College got the better of them, 105-64, but the day was about more than just basketball.

For the final time at home, Sophomores Landon SwiftSean BlueJason Sanders Jr.Kenneth Grant, and Michael Johnson Jr. were able to don the white uniforms and play in front of their friends & family. The entire Marian Ancilla community would like to thank them for their sacrifice and dedication to the program during their time spent at MUAC. Your hard work is appreciated and not overlooked!!

As for the game, for the first time since November, Sophomore guard Landon Swift made an appearance. He has been dealing with physical ailments, but he managed 18 minutes, scored 14 points, and pulled down 5 rebounds before fouling out. Sophomore guard Kenneth Grant was the team's leading scorer, knocking down 6 3-pointers for all 18 of his points. He added 6 rebounds as well. Sophomore Michael Johnson Jr. nearly posted a double-double with his 10 points and 8 rebounds.

Guard Shawn Donaldson was one of three Freshmen to come off the bench for the Chargers, and he led all reserves with his 13 points and 5 rebounds. Foul trouble caught up to the Chargers in the second half, but it was actually one of their better rebounding games, hauling in 37 total caroms.

The Men's Basketball team has not qualified for the postseason, so they have just one game remaining in their season. Tuesday (2/24), they will travel to Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek (MI) for a final MCCAA conference showdown. They are the second half of the women's/men's double-header, so their game should tip at approximately 7:30p. Please come out and support these young men one last time, if you are able!!
