Chargers Preparing for Home Stretch

The Marian University Ancilla Men's Soccer team had strung together three wins in a row heading into last Wednesday's matchup with Cuyahoga Community College. The Chargers' season is coming down the final stretch, as they have just three more matches remaining, so this was an important one against Tri-C. Unfortunately for the Chargers, the Triceratops played a strong second half, especially late, and they left Plymouth with a 6-2 victory.

The match did start a bit slow, with both teams getting a feel for one another. But by the 19th minute, Cuyahoga scored their first goal to go up 1-0. Within just a few minutes, Charger Freshman Jahnoi Moses responded off a nice assist from Freshman Angel Rojas, and the score was knotted at 1-1 heading into the intermission.

The second half began in similar fashion, but this time the Triceratops added back-to-back goals to go ahead, 3-1. Once again, Marian Ancilla responded, as Moses set up fellow Freshman Carter Pinner nicely for a goal, trimming the lead to 3-2. From there, however, it was all Tri-C, as they found the back of the net 3 more times for the final tally of 6-2.

The Men's Soccer team returns to action this Wednesday, as they head to Jackson College to take on the Jets. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00p but will start shortly after the conclusion of the Women's Soccer match. Please come out and support the teams, if you are able!
