The Marian University Ancilla Women's Basketball team played their first home game of the new year Tuesday night, a 100-35 victory over Community Christian College out of Detroit. In their final contest before MCCAA conference action begins this Saturday, the Chargers were dominant at both ends of the floor, controlling the matchup from beginning to end.

Following a 2-game hiatus, Sophomore forward Santana Eubanks returned to post her usual double-double in just 18 minutes of action, scoring 16 points and pulling in a dozen rebounds. Fellow Sophomores Aaliyah Keil (13 points) and Kaelyn Ortiz-Vaudt (12 points) also reached double figures in points scored, as all 13 Chargers reached the scoring column with at least 3 points or more. This was Ortiz-Vaudt's second time reaching double digits off the bench, as she buried 4-of-5 3-pointers in her time on the court.

On the evening, the Chargers saw 7 ladies knock down bombs from deep, as they shot 16-35 from outside for a 46% rate. Sophomore Ciara Bonner, Sophomore Audri Prater, and Freshman Mari Mason each splashed home a trio of triples on the evening. Freshman Emma Nelson did a nice job on the boards, collecting 8 caroms, while Keil led the team in assists with 5.

Saturday afternoon, the urgency will pick up once again, as Marian Ancilla will head to Dowagiac, Michigan, for a conference rivalry with the Southwestern Michigan Roadrunners. SMC is typically one of the top teams in the MCCAA Western Conference, and this year is no different. Tip time is set for 1:00p Saturday, so please come out and support the ladies, if you are able!!
