GRAND RAPIDS (MI) - Wednesday evening, the Marian University Ancilla Women's Basketball team played a strong 30 minutes to open the contest in Grand Rapids against the Raiders, winning each of the first three quarters and leading 52-40 heading into the final period. Unfortunately, after extending that lead to 55-40 early in the fourth, they were outscored 26-5 to end the game, including a scoreless final five minutes, to fall victim in a 66-60 defeat.

The Chargers actually won the turnover battle (15 to 24), however, they were out-rebounded 44-27, including allowing 14 offensive rebounds to the Raiders, plus the Chargers were just 6-17 from the free throw line.

Sophomore Santana Eubanks, playing near her hometown of Kentwood, Michigan, stood out for the Chargers, scoring 25 points and pulling down 14 rebounds for the double-double. 6 of her rebounds came at the offensive end, keeping possessions alive, plus she collected 6 steals in the loss. Sophomore Aaliyah Keil joined Eubanks in double figures with 11 points.

The Chargers were supposed to return to action tomorrow (1/24/26) with a road trip to Morton College, however, that game against the Panthers has been cancelled due to their numbers and health issues. Instead, the next games for the Marian Ancilla Women will be Monday (1/26/26) at home against Glen Oaks, Wednesday (1/28/26) at Lake Michigan, and next Saturday (1/31/26) at home against Kellogg. Please come out and support the ladies, when you are able!!
