Wednesday evening, the Marian University Ancilla Men's Basketball team traveled to South Holland, Illinois, and South Suburban College to take on the Bosco Institute. Unfortunately for the Chargers, the setting wasn't hospitable to their shooting, as they fell to the Dons, 101-72.
Through two games, the Chargers have shown great effort & energy, and they are scrappy defensively, but Wednesday's 31.0% field goal percentage and 11-43 (25.6%) effort from behind the arc definitely contributed to them not being able to keep pace with Bosco. Still, Marian Ancilla has done some nice things and shown signs of potential early this season.
Sophomore Kenneth Grant led the way with 27 points for MUAC, all of which came from behind the 3-point line. He was a bright spot outside, shooting 9-18 from beyond 22-feet (9-20 shooting overall). The 6-1 guard also pulled down 4 rebounds in the effort. Freshman guards Omari Evans (15 points) and Cristian Webster (11 points) also scored in double figures for the Chargers.
The Men's Basketball team now takes nearly a week of time before they must head back to South Holland to take on the host Bulldogs next Tuesday. The game between Marian Ancilla and South Suburban is set for 8:00p ET/7:00p CT on November 11th at the Illinois campus. Please come out and support these young men, if you are able!!
