LANSING (MI) - Saturday afternoon, the Marian University Ancilla Men's Basketball team and the Lansing Community College Stars combined for 213 points on the day, proving that defense was optional for the two teams in Lansing's 122-91 victory over the visiting Chargers.
The Chargers played a fairly consistent game and shot the ball reasonably well from all areas, but they couldn't keep up with the Stars' blistering pace. Lansing buried 72% of their field goal attempts, including 58% of their 3-point attempts.
Marian Ancilla placed four players in double-digits, with Freshman Omari Evans topping the four with 21 points. Freshman Shawn Donaldson was next with 20 points in his first game back from injury, plus he added 6 rebounds and 3 assists to his effort. Sophomore Kenneth Grant added 14 points, while Freshman A'Marien Page chipped in 10 points in defeat.
The Chargers double up with the Women's team tomorrow, as both programs head to Grand Rapids to take on the GRCC Raiders. The Women's game will tip at 5:30p, with the Men's game to follow at approximately 7:30p. Please come out and support the Chargers, if you are able!!
