Fouls Plague Chargers in 1st Half

PLYMOUTH (IN) - Anyone in basketball learns from a young age that fouls are a great way to score with the clock stopped. Typically, that's a great way to catch up in the second half of games, but the Lansing Community College Stars put that to work in the first half Wednesday night, leading to a 58-32 advantage as they headed into the locker room at halftime. While the Marian University Ancilla Men's Basketball team outscored the Stars 50-43 over the second 20 minutes, it was too little, too late, in the 101-82 defeat to Lansing.

Freshman guard Omari Evans led the Chargers with 26 points on 9-16 shooting and 5-8 from 3-point range. He added 3 assists, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals on the night. Freshman guard Shawn Donaldson also reached 20 points, scoring 21 in total, plus he chipped in 6 assists, 3 rebounds, and a pair of steals. Sophomore guard Kenneth Grant (13 points) and Freshman wing Kayden English (11 points) reached double figures in points, and Freshman forward A'Marien Page collected 10 caroms in the loss.

The Chargers only have 4 games remaining in their season, 2 of which are at home at the LifePlex in Plymouth. The first is tomorrow (2/14), when they host the Raiders of Grand Rapids Community College. The game will follow the women's game and tip at approximately 3:00p. Please come out and support the Chargers, if you are able!!
